Benny Morentin is the current Director of Tennis here at Abilene Country Club.  He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the club. He is a member of both the PTR and the USPTA.  In 2013, Benny was named PTR pro of the year for Arizona.  With the PTR, Benny is a certified clinician and is certified to teach 10 years and under children as well as 11-17 year olds.  For more than 25 years, Benny inspired junior players in the Tucson community.  He has been Assistant Head Pro at Tucson Racquet Club, Director of Tennis at Omni Tucson National, and Director of Tennis at Tucson Country Club and La Mariposa.  He has been the coach for the USTA inter-district and inter-sectional teams and Area Training Center.  Many of Benny’s students have gone on to become successful high school and collegiate athletes, as well as nationally ranked juniors.  Additionally, Benny teaches adults and interclub teams.  He has coached five USTA teams to Nationals in the past six years at Tucson Country Club.
Benny’s own accomplishments include All-American collegiate player and he was ranked 4th in the nation in doubles while at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.  He played three years at the USTA National 5.0 Tennis Championships and was a member of the 2010 USTA National 4.5 team.  In 2008, Benny was one of a small group of professionals in Tucson to have been invited to complete the USTA Elite Coaches High Performance Training class.  This accolade truly establishes Benny Morentin as one of the top tennis-teaching professionals in the area, as evidenced by his coaching popularity from beginners to elite players.

Sean Polk was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. Sean has been playing and teaching tennis for over 40 years.  He was ranked in the Top 50 in juniors (Super Championship Division) and competed in USPTA prize money tournaments.  Sean has been a member of the USPTA since 1986.  He has had the privilege and experience of working with all ages of players, ranging from 3 to 83, and all levels of players, ranging from the first time on the court to a top junior open player. Sean’s goal is to make tennis fun for everybody.  Sean is married to his wife Kari.  When Sean is not playing tennis, he enjoys many other sports: such as playing golf, watching the Dallas Cowboys and especially following the Texas Rangers.

Brooke Dennis is originally from Abilene, Texas.  She left her hometown to go play college tennis and came back to teach where she hit her first tennis ball.  She has brought an amazing attitude and teaching style to the Abilene Country Club for the past two years.  Brooke loves teaching all ages and has a psychology degree from the University of Texas at Arlington that focuses in sports psychology.  Whether a beginner or a seasoned veteran, Brooke can help take your game to the next level both mentally and physically.

Gary Range is a fresh face to the Abilene Country Club and brings both determination and encouragement to others around him. As an Eagle Scout, he was instilled with some great values such as tenacity and a focus that is very goal oriented. Gary takes every obstacle as a learning experience.
